Once guests have met at the specified departure location we will begin this tour. We will spend our time walking through the elegant Garden District, once part of a large plantation. This part of the city was constructed after New Orleans came into U.S. control, an attempt to rival the architectural splendor of the French Quarter. Filled with Greek Revival and Italianate architecture. Some of the most famous of the city's notable people have lived in this area, from the Mannings (Archie, Peyton, and Eli), celebrated author Anne Rice, and Jefferson Davis. Then, we will visit Lafayette Cemetery, one of the famous "Cities of the Dead," to learn about the famous above-ground burial system. Then, we will return to the departure location and bring this tour to an end. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
