Today, guests will arrive at the airport in San Jose where they will meet their tour guide. He will help you handle your information package such as travel itinerary in detail, vouchers for services, and etc. Afterwards we will head to the hotel. Along the way your tour guide will make a brief introduction about Costa Rica and some recommendations
for your trip. Uppon arrival in the hotel you can enjoy dinner there and get ready to start a fun trip early tomorrow.
Day 2:

Today the tour guide will meet you early in the morning at hotel and then start traveling northeast to the Caribbean lowlands from San Jose. We will firstly cross through the Braulio Carrillo National Park and then you will stop for breakfast at Guapiles. After breakfast we will continue to La Pavona dock and from there you will board the boat that will take us to our hotel located in the Tortuguero National Park area. In the afternoon we will visit the Village of Tortuguero where we could visit the Turtle Museum and walk around this town to learn about the relaxed way of life in the Caribbean part of Costa Rica. We will return to the hotel after this interesting trip.

After breakfast we will take a boat tour in the Tortuguero National Park accompanied by a local nature guide. We may find many species of wildlife when go deep into the canals of the park such as capuchin monkeys, dozens of species of birds and even endangered West Indian Manatee. Then we will enjoy a lunch at the lodge. Afterwards the tour guide will take us to a private nature trail where you can find wildlife. Then we could enjoy the rest of this day at our leisure. You can relax at the swimming pool, enjoy a cocktail while admiring the river lagoon or spend the afternoon on the beach.

After breakfast, we will meet at the main dock of the hotel to return by boat to Pavona's dock,
from there we will continue with the land transportation to Guapiles where you will have one last
Caribbean lunch. After lunch the driver will take you to the Turrialba Volcano area. A private driver will take you to higher elevations through a mountain road with amazing views of the Reventazon River Canyon and the Turrialba Volcano. The area has become one of the richest regions of Costa Rica for the growth of plants and numerous species of birds. Our Lodge is right on the slopes of the Turrialba Volcano, at 1500 meters above sea level, a true paradise for birdwatching and nature lovers.

Turrialba Volcano is an active volcano in central Costa Rica that has been explosively eruptive in recent years. On clear days both the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea can be seen from the summit.
Today we will be picked up early in the morning by the tour guide and enjoy an interesting birdwatching tour. The lush Valley of Turrialba is a rich land covered with rainforest. You will notice that this terrain and climate make it a perfect opportunity to admire many species of birds. In the afternoon we could have free time to enjoy the hotel facilities and etc.
Turrialba, COSTA RICA
Turrialba is a beautiful small town in the Central Valley of Cartago province. The lush valley of Turrialba is a rich land covered with rainforest but also with large plantations of coffee and sugar cane. We can see many birds up close while they are perched on the fences of the farms.
Today we will be picked up by our driver in the mid-morning from the lodge and traveling towards the
city of Cartago, the old Capital of the country. Downtown you can find the most important basilica and the ruins of the oldest church. From Cartago, it is just one hour to the Cloud Forest of San Gerardo. The Lodge is right in the middle of the cloud forest reserve. Here you can see hundreds of hummingbirds flying around the restaurant and other areas as well as other species.
Cartago, COSTA RICA
Cartago is a city in Costa Rica, about 25 km (16 mi) east of the capital, San Jose. It is the capital of Cartago province, and was the capital of Costa Rica from 1574 to 1824.
Early in the morning we will meet a local guide in the lobby of the lodge and then be taken throughout the trails of the hotel's private reserve with the objective of finding Quetzals, a very beautiful bird. In the afternoon, you can take an optional tour and walk to the waterfalls of the Savegre River. On this 3 hour walk we will find two amazing waterfalls located deep within this cloud forest. As an alternative, we could also take horses on your own expenses in case you don't want to walk too much.
San Gerardo, COSTA RICA
San Gerardo de Rivas is a small village high up in the Talamanca Mountains of south central Costa Rica. The complex and rare cloud forest environment the village is located in is famed for its waterfalls and its diverse wildlife including rare species of birds, large felines and monkeys, varieties of orchids and butterflies.
Day 8:
San Gerardo de Dota - Marino Ballena National Park (45 km)
Early in the morning we will be picked up by the driver and continue traveling south to the
surroundings of the Marino Ballena National Park. Along the way you will see new species of birds and animals. Our lodge is tucked away in a private reserve on over 600 acres of land where we could enjoy spectacular Pacific Ocean views. Here you will be very close to sandy beaches, natural river pools, and experience blooming forest and astonishing wildlife. You will be very close to the Corcovado National Park. In this afternoon you can admire the breathtaking sunset from the hotel and enjoy the tranquility of fresh ocean breezes while you sip a cocktail or some natural refreshment prepared with fresh, local fruits.

It's one of the most interesting things to do in the Marino Ballena National Park. This area is in the middle of the migration route of these mysterious animals so it is easy to find them during the right months especially from January through March and from July through September the whales are around.
Today we will travel northwest to the Central Pacific area. Along the way you can find beautiful beach towns. We can have a good idea of how different life can be in the Pacific Coast as opposed to life in the Caribbean. Afterwards we will visit the Carara National Park. Here you can find one of the biggest and most astonishing birds of Costa Rica, the Scarlet Macaw as well as the yellow-billed Cotinga and Black-hooded Antshrike.

Depart from the lodge, we will head to the Carara National Park which is just minutes' distance from our lodge. When arrive in the park, we can choose between two trails to explore, each of which is approximately 2 miles (3 km) in length. We will have a chance to see macaws flying overhead or in trees.
There is a huge population of crocodiles that live within the nearby Tarcoles River. Afterwards we could walk along a bridge that looks down onto the river and its scaly inhabitants where we could take beautiful pictures. In the afternoon we will enjoy own leisure time at the hotel to enjoy the swimming pool or other facilities.

Booking changes
A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Take tours for details.

31-45 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
46-60 days prior to departure - No penalty.
Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee. NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
Itinerary Variations
We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
