Today we will meet our tour guide at the SJO airport exit in San Jose. After loaded the bikes and luggage into the vehicle, you will be transferred to the hotel which is located just 20 minutes driving from the airport (25 mins by bike). After checked in the hotel, we could enjoy our free time at rest of the day. Your biking guide will explain your itinerary in detailed and give you an initial safety talk for mountain biking in the Tropics.
Today your biking guide will pick you up early and then head towards Arenal. It is a 3-hour drive through the beautiful landscapes of coffee plantations, rivers, and mountains. Your hotel is located on the east side of the Arenal Volcano. In the afternoon, your guide will escort you to the surrounding areas of the Arenal Volcano where you will ride on a secondary road which is flat at first but continuously increases to some small hills ahead. Then we will ride back to the hotel after lunch and enjoy our free time of the rest of the day. Overnight in the area of Arenal Volcano.
Arenal Volcano National Park, COSTA RICA
Arenal Volcano National Park is a Costa Rican national park in the central part of the country, forming the Arenal Tilaran Conservation Area. The park encompasses the Arenal Volcano, which "was" the most active in the country. This Park is popular with birders, as most of the 850 species identified in Costa Rica can be found within the park's borders.
Day 3:
Arenal Volcano - Miravalles Volcano (58 km)
After breakfast, we will ride bike around the Lake Arenal towards Tronadora town where you will board the support vehicle and continue to the Miravalles Volcano area. This route is part of the famous "Tour of the Lake", a 2 day race that takes place every year in May. Today we will ride along a paved road that borders the lake, away from traffic, but not too deep into the jungle as the perfect scenario for mountain biking. The support vehicle will accompany us the entire time in case somebody cannot continue on the uphill stretch. Tonight we could also have a chance to stay at the naturally heated thermal pools of the Lodge.

Lake Arenal is a lake which is situated in the northern highlands of Costa Rica. It is currently the largest lake in Costa Rica at 85-square-kilometre (33 sq mi). Its depth varies between 30 and 60 meters seasonally.
Miravalles Volcano, COSTA RICA
The Miravalles Volcano is an andesitic stratovolcano in Costa Rica. The Miravalles Volcano reaches an elevation of 6,653 feet (2,023 m) and is the highest mountain in the Guanacaste Mountains.
Day 4:
Miravalles Volcano - Liberia (34 km)

After breakfast we will be transferred to the slopes of Miravalles Volcano. From here, the bikes
will be ready to begin your uphill route starting from the tropical Rain Forest and ending at the Cloud Forest in the Santa Maria Volcano. Afterwards we will bike over rolling hills cross seven rivers and creeks before you eventually take a long downhill parallel to the Canyon of the Rio Liberia ending the landscape of the tropical dry forest. Lastly we will arrive to Liberia which is is about 45 minutes to our hotel. Then we could enjoy our free time at the rest of the day. Overnight in the area of Rincon de La Vieja National Park.

The Miravalles Volcano is an andesitic stratovolcano in Costa Rica. The Miravalles Volcano reaches an elevation of 6,653 feet (2,023 m) and is the highest mountain in the Guanacaste Mountains.
Liberia, COSTA RICA
Liberia is the capital and largest city of Guanacaste province, Costa Rica, located 215 kilometres (134 mi) northwest of the national capital, San Jose. This city has been nicknamed la ciudad blanca (the white city) due to the white gravel that was once used to make the city’s roads and the whitewashed colonial houses which used to make up a large part of the city.
After breakfast we will start riding a bike all over the trails and dirt roads. After that we will have a delicious lunch and then continue our adventures which is the most exciting activity of the day. We will take a 15-minute walk to the Rio Blanco Canyon, from here you will take "flight" over the forest on our canopy tour. This is the easiest and fastest way to enjoy this nature reserve around the Canyon of Blanco river. Afterwards we will also experience the Zip line to explore the forest for a long distance in minutes and observe the entire forest as well as wildlife within it. Overnight in the area of Rincon de La Vieja National Park.
Day 6:
Rincon de la Vieja National Park - Tamarindo Beach (75 km)
In the morning, we will be taken by our tour guide to the mud pots at the Rincon de la Vieja National Park. While hiking this nature trail you will be able to see the volcanic activity; We will also have a chance to take photos as you find colorful birds and other wildlife along the way. Afterwards we will have a lunch at the hotel restaurant. Afternoon you will be transferred to the Beach of Tamarindo located 1.5 hours from here with the bikes transported on the racks on top the vehicle. For the rest of the afternoon we could enjoy a leisure time to explore the beach and enjoy the warm waters of the tropical Pacific Coast that are perfect for swimming. Overnight in Tamarindo Beach.
Rincon de la Vieja National Park, COSTA RICA
Rincon de La Vieja National Park is one of the parks in the Guanacaste Conservation Area, Costa Rica. At over 34,000 acres, Rincon de la Vieja has room of two volcanoes, 32 rivers and streams, and an incredible variety of flora and fauna.
Tamarindo, COSTA RICA
Tamarindo is a town and district of the Santa Cruz canton, located on the Nicoya Peninsula on the Northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the Province of Guanacaste. The main attractions of here are surfing and eco-tourism.
Day 7:
Sardinal - Playa Conchal/ Playa Real (25 km)
Today we will head to the town of Sardinal where you will start riding along the coast and small hills crossing several white-sand beaches to arrive at Playa Conchal or Playa Real. After that we could enjoy a refreshing swim in the ocean. Then we will have a lunch with a cold beer. We will return to the hotel by the end of the day and enjoy some free time. Overnight in Tamarindo beach.

The morning will be free for us to enjoy the hotel facilities and the beautiful beach. In the afternoon,
your guide will take you back to San Jose for the last night in the country. Our hotel for tonight
is a convenient property located close to the airport.

Booking changes
A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Take tours for details.

31-45 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
46-60 days prior to departure - No penalty.
Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee. NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
Itinerary Variations
We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
Tour Cancellation:
We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
