Today we will gather in Anchorage and then transfer via hotel courtesy shuttle and overnight in Anchorage (or purchase meet transfer service).
Day 2:
Anchorage - Worthington Glacier - Valdez (185 miles)

Today we will drive to Valdez through the Matanuska Susitna Valley where world record monster size vegetables grow in the 24-hour daylight and stop by Worthington Glacier. In the early evening we will arrive into Valdez.

Matanuska-Susitna Valley, AK
An area in Southcentral Alaska south of the Alaska Range about 35 miles (56 km) north of Anchorage, Alaska. It is known for the world record sized cabbages and other vegetables displayed annually in Palmer at the Alaska State Fair.

Worthington Glacier, AK
A 5,774-acre valley glacier located adjacent to Thompson Pass in the southeastern mainland section of the U.S. state of Alaska. Located on the Richardson Highway at milepost 28.7 mi (46 km) east of Valdez, it was listed as a National Natural Landmark in 1968.

We will spend the morning exploring Valdez and visit Valdez Museum . This afternoon, we will board a glacier and wildlife cruise and travel through the Prince William Sound, explore the three-mile face of the Columbia Glacier. Keep your eyes open for seals, sea lions, otters, whales, and puffins throughout the half-day exploration cruise with lunch included on the boat.

Today we will head for Denali National Park. There are many acitivies to choose from including mild or wild river rafting, flight seeing, a jet boat safari on the Nenana River or a visit to an Iditarod champions award winning dog kennel.

After breakfast, we will travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour and search the vast wilderness for bear, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. This six to eight hour journey is narrated allowing for insight into the animals, flora and fauna of this spectacular region including a snack on the bus. Early May & September tours are shortened due to road conditions. Overnight in Denali.

This morning we will drive to Talkeetna. Then we will watch for a glimpse of the majestic Mt. McKinley or black bear along the banks of the Susitna River, enjoy time on own to explore this quaint Alaskan town. In the afternoon our journey will continue south to Anchorage by rail in Deluxe Dome Railcars.

This small town in Alaska is about 115 miles north of Anchorage and has a population of just 876. It is the base for expeditions to Denali, the tallest mountain in North America.

Today we will enjoy a brief city tour of
Anchorage, which includes the historic downtown district and visit the
Alaska Native Heritage Center. Tonight, you may share stories of your Alaskan Adventure with your traveling companions at a closing night
dinner.
Saturday Cruise Alignments: Your adventure comes to an end with a courtesy transfer to the airport. Only breakfast included. (Guests going to cruise ship embarkation will return to the airport to meet the cruise line staff via hotel courtesy shuttle)

This educational and cultural institution, opened in 1999, houses exhibits that detail the individual histories of the 11 native groups that inhabited the area. It is a short drive from downtown Anchorage.
