Day 1: Anchorage

Today we will arrive in Anchorage (Airport Code: ANC) and then transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Anchorage-Talkeetna-Anchorage (153 miles)

Leave from the hotel at around 9:00am in the morning, and travel to the gold rush town of Talkeetna. Once you've arrived, head to the Denali National Park Talkeetna Ranger Station to get your official park stamp (about 15 min.), then get a look at Denali from a viewing platform (about 15 min.). You'll also have time to freely explore the unique restaurants, art galleries, cafes, and antique-themed shops. If you want to get a close look at Denali, you can choose to do an optional Denali Flightseeing Tour or Talkeetna Speedboat Tour. Due to time constraints, it is only possible to choose one of these two activities. Estimated return to Anchorage is between 7:00-7:30pm.

Leave from the hotel around 9:30 in the morning, and travel to the old naval port town of Whittier. On the way you can enjoy the picturesque scenery of lofty mountains, icy glaciers, crystal clear lakes, and the twisting ocean shoreline of Turnagain Arm. Just before arriving in Whittier, you'll pass through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel. Once in Whittier, visit the famous Begich Towers residential building (outside only) and take in the naval port town scenery (about 20 min. total). While in Whittier you have the opportunity to go on a Glacier & Marine Life Cruise. Estimated return to Anchorage is between 8:00-8:30pm.

    This tiny coastal town in Alaska is home to only about 180 people. It is home to the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, a multipurpose highway and railroad tunnel that cuts underneath a mountain.

    The Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel (often referred to simply as the Whittier Tunnel) is a multi-use highway and railroad tunnel that passes under Maynard Mountain. At 13,300 ft (4,100 m), it is the second-longest highway tunnel and longest combined rail and highway tunnel in North America.

    Glacier Cruise

    The area around Whittier, AK, is home to over 20 distinct glaciers. This cruise will take us past the most notable, and we will learn about these fascinating geological features.

Day 4: Alaska Glass Dome Sightseeing Train (180 miles)

Leave from the hotel around 7:30 in the morning, and head to the Anchorage Train Station to check in for your train for your journey to Denali on the Alaska Glass Dome Sightseeing Train. You'll arrive at the Denali Train Station around 3:40pm. You'll be picked up from the train station and taken to your hotel, after which you can enjoy some free time.

    Denali Star Route

    This famous route of the Alaska Railroad cuts through the heart of Denali National Park, providing incredible scenic views of one of the most expansive parks in the country.

    1) The summer glass dome train is a sightseeing train with limited ticket availability. The specific route and seating are subject to change. 2) Your guide will drop you off and pick you up at the train station, but will not accompany you on the train.

Today you'll Denali Highway Wilderness Explore with our guide. Before departure, the guide will lead you to purchase the lunch or you can prepare in advance. Today we will have an outdoor picnic with a relaxing lunch while admiring the view, which is the best way to experience Denali (remember to pack up the garbage and take it away when you end). Then ahead to Fairbanks. At 10 pm, take the Aurora Shuttle to our carefully selected Aurora-Viewing Lodge. Our professional guides will introduce you to the Northern Lights and instruct you in camera parameter set-up and aurora borealis shooting techniques to help you take stunning aurora photos. Free hot drinks, coffee and a Northern Lights monitoring screen are available in the cabin. You will return to the hotel to rest at around 2 am the next morning.

In the afternoon we will visit Old Town Fairbanks, visit Golden Heart Park and Morris Visitor Center.We will "travel" to the most retro Pioneer Park in Fairbanks. As soon as you enter the park, you can see the staff dressed in early 20th century attire, taking you right away. Get into the historical atmosphere. At 10 pm, follow a professional guide to take the Aurora Shuttle to the area outside Fairbanks. Our professional aurora guides will take you to the most powerful aurora viewing area to chasing the aurora. You will return to the hotel to rest at around 2 am the next morning.

  • Airport Dropoff: Please book a departure flight after 7:00 am on the last day. Each room provides a 24-hour airport free shuttle service. It is recommended that guests arrive at the airport at least 2 hours in advance. Guests can also take a taxi to the airport by themselves.   • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation and Refund Policy:
    TakeTours makes every effort to serve our customers better. We also advise all customers to purchase traveler's insurance in case of interruption, accidents, illness, or anything else that may come up. If a reservation has to be cancelled, customers will be charged a fee depending on how far from the departure date the cancellation takes place.
    No refund if cancellation is made within 10 days of departure.
    50% refund if cancellation is made within 11-20 days of departure.
    70% refund if cancellation is made within 21-30 days of departure.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    Notification day and departure day are NOT counted. Unused features are non-refundable. In addition, there is 6% handling fee added on to the above penalties. NOTE: We cannot grant refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
