Day 1: Athens

Welcome to Greece! Guests should meet at 6:00pm in the hotel lobby for a brief, informal welcome meeting to go over some things. Afterwards, we can enjoy an optional group dinner to get to know the rest of the group.

Day 2: Athens

Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece; it is one of the world's oldest cities with history spanning back over 3,400 years and is widely referred to as the cradle of Western Civilization and the birthplace of democracy. During our sightseeing tour of the city today, we will visit many famous sites and monuments, including the National Library, the Academy, Constitution Square, the Parliament Building, the Temple of Zeus, the Parthenon and the Acropolis. We will have the evening free to explore more of the city at our own leisure.

    One of the oldest cities in the world, Athenian history spans more than three millennia, and served as the foundation for much of modern Western culture. Ancient monuments like the Parthenon have been standing for thousands of years.

    Syntagma Square

    Named for the Greek Constitution, Syntagma Square is Athens' central public square, located in front of the Old Royal Palace, which currently houses the Greek Parliament. It was constructed in the 19th century.

    Temple of Olympian Zeus

    A former colossal temple dedicated to "Olympian" Zeus, constructed from the 6th century BC and completed until the 2nd century AD. The temple's glory was short-lived, as it fell into disuse after being pillaged during a barbarian invasion in 267 AD.

    Parthenon

    A former temple on the Athenian Acropolis dedicated to the goddess Athena constructed from 447 BC to 438 BC. Its decorative sculptures are considered some of the high points of Greek art.

Day 3: Athens - Mykonos (184 km)

Today, we will make an early start out of Athens, boarding a ferry to the island of Mykonos. When we arrive in the afternoon, we will attend a brief meeting with the tour leader to get some information. After that, we will go on an orientation walk, during which we will hear some tips on how best to explore the island on our own.

Day 4: Mykonos

Today, we will be able to spend free time exploring Mykonos, the quintessential picturesque Greek island, where we will see fishing boats bobbing side-by-side with more luxurious yachts, whitewashed streets, beautiful beaches and bars. Or discover the birthplace of Apollo by taking an optional tour to Delos Island. Tonight, hit the bars and restaurants and dance the night away!

Day 5: Mykonos - Santorini (117 km)

Today, we will leave Mykonos on a ferry bound for Santorini. We will wander through the town of Fira to get our bearings. See why the blue door houses, white church domes make Santorini the iconic postcard town of Greece. Santorini is formed from volcanic activity, and from the caldera witness the most epic sunset and breath-taking views.

Day 6: Santorini

Today, guests will have free time to explore the Santorini at their own pace. Relax on the red or black sand beaches, wander the streets and browse through the shops of the main town or take an optional quad biking tour. Explore the island's volcano and check out an active crater and hot springs in our optional volcano tour. The choices are endless!

Day 7: Santorini - Ios

Early in the morning, we will take another ferry, sailing to Ios, beloved by visitors for its golden beaches and characteristic Aegean architecture. It is a well-known party island with a lively atmosphere and endless fun. The capital is built at the point where the ancient city was, where white houses unfold and its windmills and narrow small roads can be seen on the hill tops. A great party night is waiting for us.

Day 8: Ios

Today, you will enjoy free day in Ios on your own leisure. Relax on the beach, roam the streets of the beautiful town of Chora or swoon over those awesome views.

Day 9: Ios - Athens (196 km)

Today, we will take the ferry from Ios to Athens. Tick off any last minute sightseeing and soak up all that Greece has to offer.

Day 10: Athens

After checking out of our hotel in Athens at 11:00am, the tour will come to an end and we say our goodbyes.

  • The President Hotel Athens can be reached by Metro or Bus from Venizelos Airport. Metro closes by midnight, while Bus number X95 is available for 24 hours. The hotel located on Kifisias street, is walking distance away from Ambelokipi station reached by bus number X95. If you arrive by metro the distance from Ambelokipi station to the hotel is 700 meters, 6-8 minutes walking distance to the hotel. (Hotel Phone : +30 21 0698 9000)

Additional Note

  • This tour is recommended for travelers between 18-39 years old. Others are welcome, but most passengers will be within this age group.
  • Children are not allowed; Passengers must be over 18-year-old in order to join the tour.
  • Spending money: Every person has different spending habits, but to help you out with your planning, we estimated your average daily expenses. An approximate amount of �20 per day for lunch & dinner (without drinks), and �30 per day as personal spending money (souvenirs, handicraft etc. not included) is generally sufficient.

Confirmation

  • Immediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Within 2-3 business days of submitting your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. Please do not book any airline tickets until you receive the status of your booking.

Redemption

  • You will receive a confirmation voucher in 2-3 business days after you receive the e-ticket. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination and departure details, is included in your confirmation voucher. When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print the confirmation voucher to present when you arrive at your destination. It is your proof of purchase.

  • PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.
  • Booking changes
    All changes, amendments or additions must be confirmed prior to 60 days of the departure date to avoid cancellation or amendment fees. No new passengers may be added to a booking once completed.

  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • a) Name & Tour Date changes requested within:
    60-30 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of �25 per person;
    29-15 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of �50 per person;
    14 days of departure will be made at the sole discretion of tour operator.
    b) Tour Destination changes requested within:
    60-30 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of �35 per person;
    29 days of departure will be made at the sole discretion of tour operator.
    Changing the tour date and/or the destination is subject to availability of the new requested date and/or the destination. If the revised tour has a higher price and/or local payment, the price difference must be paid by the passenger. It is not possible to transfer the booking to travel dates outside of seasonal dates covered in tour operator brochure or by the relevant edition of the website valid at the time the original booking was made. Hotelier cancellation charges are liable to be paid by the passenger in the event of booked pre-tour and post-tour accommodation being unused whatever the circumstances are.
  • Cancellations penalty within the balance payment period (60-0 days prior to departure) are as follows: (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    60 days or more prior to departure - �60 per person.
    59-30 days prior to departure - 70% of total purchase amount.
    29-15 days prior to departure - 85% of total purchase amount.
    1-14 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
