Overview

Starting from Syntagma Square, we will begin a journey through the taste of Greece, visit Athens Central Market, Monastiraki neighborhood, Psirri area. In this 4-hour experience, the guide will share with us insights into the enduring history of Greek food and the local culture. Starting the day with a traditional phyllo pie from a family-run shop, we will be lead to hidden culinary gems inside the city that only locals know about. We will visit many different food and pastry shops, off-the-beaten-path taverns & traditional restaurants and explore the Athens Central Market, the center of Athens' gastronomy life. Featuring delicious tastings like dolmades, pastourma, feta cheese and the famous Kalamata olives, we will get to escape the crowds and taste the best of what Athens has to offer.

Athens, GREECE

One of the oldest cities in the world, Athenian history spans more than three millennia, and served as the foundation for much of modern Western culture. Ancient monuments like the Parthenon have been standing for thousands of years.

Syntagma Square

Named for the Greek Constitution, Syntagma Square is Athens' central public square, located in front of the Old Royal Palace, which currently houses the Greek Parliament. It was constructed in the 19th century.

Monastiraki Square

A flea market neighborhood in the old town of Athens home to clothing boutiques, souvenir shops, specialty stores, and is a major tourist attraction in Athens and Attica for bargain shopping.

Psirri

A gentrified neighbourhood in Athens known for its restaurants, bars, live music tavernas and small number of hotels.
