Travel to Pulteney Bridge
The Pulteney Bridge across the Avon River is one of only four bridges in the world that is lined by shops on both sides across its entire span. The bridge is only of architectural interest on the South side. On the north side, the facade has been altered to allow the stores to have more space. The southern side is a prime example of Palladian architecture. It was built in the 1770s, shortly after the founding of Bath.
