The city became prominent in Europian history during the Thirty Year´s War, as it was the only town in Central Europe able to defend itself against siege by the Swedish army. Funtionalist architecture contributed to giving the city its appearance as a modern metropolis.

    Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic by population and area, it is also the largest Moravian city and the historical capital city of the Margraviate of Moravia.

    Capuchin Monastery

    Not an attraction for the squeamish, the Capuchin Monastery in Brno is famous for housing a crypt, the final resting place of the monks who once lived there, that is complete with incredibly well-preserved mummies.

    Church of St. James

    The Church of St. James in Brno was originally constructed in the thirteenth century in the Gothic style. A 2001 excavation of the site revealed a large ossuary underneath the church and the square, containing over fifty thousand skeletal remains.

    Freedom Square

    Brno's Freedom Square, or "Namesti Svobody" in Czech, was once the historic city center. In the square, visitors will find the plague column, a memorial to those killed by the Black Death in the Middle Ages.

    Old Town Hall

    The Old Town Hall of Brno is a beautiful historic building with some unique and quirky features. Inside the Gothic archway that acts as its entrance hand a wheel and a crocodile statue, both referencing local legends.

    Parnassus Fountain

    The centerpiece of Brno's Vegetable Market, the Parnassus Fountain is a beautiful example of baroque art that features famous mythological characters, such as Hercules. The woman on top represents the European continent.

    Reduta Theater

    The oldest theater in Central Europe, the Reduta Theater in Brno's Vegetable Market has been housing theatrical and musical performances since the mid-17th century. In 1767, an 11 year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, accompanied by his older sister, performed here.

    Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral

    The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, with its neo-Gothic exterior and baroque interior, has twin spires that reach to the sky, a beacon for the city, even for those coming from far away.
Holiday Special: During the Christmas holidays in December and Easter holidays in April you will visit traditional markets and get to know the Czech traditions and customs.

  • This tour is available in English, German, Russian, Slovak and Czech. On request and subject to availability in Portuguese, Lithuanian, Polish, Italian, Slovenian and French language.This tour takes place daily all year at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.(14.00) for two persons minimum. The guide can pick you up in your hotel in the city center, the tour ends in center of Brno.
  • Children younger than 5 years old may participate for free.
  • Cancellation made within 48 hours� of service date will be charged in full; More than 48 hours� notice is fully refundable.

  • All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book the airline tickets until you received the confirmation.

Redemption

  • Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your e-ticket. You must print and bring e-ticket(s) on your trip, as they serve as proof of purchase.

Terms & Condition

  • Changes to Reservations: A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary will be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.

    Cancellation penalties per person (request day and departure day are not counted)
    15 days or more prior to departure - no penalty
    8-14 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Within 7 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a scheduled trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every effort to maintain normal operations.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of the tour.

  • Prices may vary and are subject to availability by season, weekend, and/or holiday.
  • While we will make every effort to maintain a regular operation, we reserve the right to cancel a scheduled trip and issue a full refund to affected customers under special circumstances.
