Travel to Fisherman’s Bastion

The Fisherman's Bastion on the Buda side of the Danube River in Hungary is an incredible white-stone viewing terrace with conical towers. It was built in the 1890s and gets its name from the fisherman's guild that in the Middle Ages defended the stretch of land the bastion now occupies. It was nearly destroyed during World War II and underwent extensive restoration and rebuilding during the ensuing decades. It offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.
