Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt! As guests arrive at the airport in Cairo, they should keep an eye open for the tour guide, who will be holding a sign and help them transfer to the hotel. Around 6:00pm, we will gather in the hotel lobby for a brief introductory meeting.

Day 2: Cairo City Tour - Luxor (670 km)

After breakfast, we will visit Giza Plateau to visit the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycrenos. In the afternoon, we will go sightseeing in Sakkara, the first capital of ancient Egypt, famous for the Step Pyramid built by King Djoser in 27000 BCE. Later in the afternoon, we will board a bus to Luxor, where we will spend the night.

    Lying in the necropolis to the northwest of the ancient city of Memphis is this step-pyramid, built in the 27th century BC for the deceased Pharaoh Djoser by his vizier, Imhotep.

Day 3: Luxor - Aswan (179 km)

After breakfast, we will depart for the vast Karnak Temple Complex. It's one of the most important religious centres of ancient Egypt with its marvellous temples. Your Egyptologist guide will enlighten you with the most intriguing stories and mythologies fuelling such creations for millennia. In the afternoon we will drive to Aswan for the evening.

    Karnak Temple

    This vast complex of ruined temples was once the great Egyptian city of Thebes. It is a vast, open-air museum where visitors can see a cross-section into many eras of ancient Egyptian culture.

Day 4: Aswan - Felucca Cruise

After breakfast, we will explore Aswan, the smallest of the three major tourist cities based along the Nile. We will visit the amazing Philae Temple and the Aswan High Dam. Early in the morning, we will also be able to take an optional trip to Abu Simbel, one of the most impressive sights of ancient Egypt. Later in the afternoon, we will board an overnight felucca cruise along the Nile.

    Abu Simbel Temples

    These two massive rock temples in Aswan were carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II. They were forgotten for thousands of years, buried under sand until their rediscovery in 1813.

    High Dam

    This embankment dam sits on the Nile River in southern Egypt. Built between 1898 and 1902 to prevent the annual flooding of the Nile River, the dam also provides irrigation water and hydroelectric power.

    Temple of Isis on Philae

    This temple was built on the island of Philae, which sits downstream of the Aswan Dam, in the 4th century BC. The temple has been noted for its architectural prowess.

Day 5: Felucca Cruise on the Nile

Today, we will sail along the Nile River all day aboard our felucca cruise, watching the beautiful scenery pass us by and locals waving to us as the wash, swim and fish in the river. We can sit back, relax and absorb the local culture.

Day 6: Felucca cruise - Edfu - Komombo - Luxor (324 km)

Today, we will disembark from our felucca cruise and head to Luxor. On the way, we will visit the Kom Ombo Temple, Temple of Edfu. After hotel checkin, we will visit the Luxor Temple.

    An ancient Egyptian temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, was built in the Ptolemaic period between 237 and 57 BC. It's located on the west bank of the Nile in Edfu, Upper Egypt and is one of the best preserved shrines in Egypt.

    Temple of Kom Ombo

    This double temple was built between 180-47 BC during the Ptolemaic dynasty. The southern part of the temple is dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god and creator of the world, while the southern half is dedicated to Horus the Elder.

Day 7: Luxor - Cairo (658 km)

We will visit the West Bank of the Nile with the incredible Valley of the Kings. Here lied the famous mummy of Tutankhamun III. Next we will visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. We will drive to Cairo for overnight stay.

    Nestled into a set of cliffs in the ancient city of Thebes, now modern day Luxor, this ancient temple is dedicated to the god Amen-Ra. It is considered the closest ancient Egyptians came to the Calssical style of architecture.

Day 8: Cairo City Tour

Our journey through Cairo will begin with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, one of the most important museums documenting the ancient world, housing a collection of over 100.000 Egyptian relics. Afterwards, we will also visit the Citadel of Saladin, the Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Hanging Church and the famous Kahn El Khalili Bazaar.

    Khan el-Khalili

    A major souk in the Islamic district of Cairo. The bazaar district is one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike.

    Mosque of Muhammad Ali

    This mosque can be found at the very summit of the citadel of Cairo. Built under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, it was the largest mosque built in the first half of the 19th century.

    Saladin Citadel

    This medieval Islamic fortress in Cairo was built during the reign of Saladin to defend the city against the threat of invading Crusader forces. The famous Mosque of Muhammad Ali is located within the citadel.

    The Egyptian Museum

    Containing an unparalleled collection of over 120,000 items, this museum opened in 1902 to show a detailed history of ancient Egyptian culture. Many languages can be found on the artifacts, including Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Arabic.

    The Hanging Church

    This Coptic church in Cairo is one of the oldest in Egypt, with history dating back to the 3rd century AD. It gets its named because it is positioned above the gatehouse to the Babylon Fortress.

Day 9: Cairo - Nuweiba - Dahab

Early in the morning, we will make our way to the Red Sea paradise of Dahab, where we will relax by the sea and partake in activities like swimming, snorkeling, diving, camel treks, jeep safaris and more.

Day 10: Dahab

Our journey will come to an end today after we say goodbye to our new friends over breakfast and check out of the hotel at 11:00am.
  • This tour will begin in Cairo with Airport Transfer, but ends in Dahab.
  • Complementary arrival airport transfer is available on the first day of the tour (Day 1) from the airports of the city where your tour starts in Morocco. Transfers are available between 05:00am to 23:59pm. To confirm your airport transfer, please forward us following information at least 2 weeks before your departure date.
  • Please note: Airport transfer is not available with post tour accommodations. There is only one return shuttle to the airport on the final morning, please refer to your guide for details.

Additional Note

  • Single occupancy is not available on Felucca Cruise. Single traveler will be accommodated in a double, twin or triple room according to availability with a passenger(s) of the same gender.
  • This tour is recommended for travelers between 18-39 years old. Others are welcome, but most passengers will be within this age group.
  • Children are not allowed; Passengers must be over 18-year-old in order to join the tour.
  • Spending money: Every person has different spending habits, but to help you out with your planning, we estimated your average daily expenses. An approximate amount of �20 per day for lunch & dinner (without drinks), and �30 per day as personal spending money (souvenirs, handicraft etc. not included) is generally sufficient.

Confirmation

  • Immediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Within 2-3 business days of submitting your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. Please do not book any airline tickets until you receive the status of your booking.

Redemption

  • You will receive a confirmation voucher in 2-3 business days after you receive the e-ticket. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination and departure details, is included in your confirmation voucher. When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print the confirmation voucher to present when you arrive at your destination. It is your proof of purchase.

  • Booking changes
    All changes, amendments or additions must be confirmed prior to 60 days of the departure date to avoid cancellation or amendment fees. No new passengers may be added to a booking once completed.

  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • a) Name & Tour Date changes requested within:
    60-30 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of �25 per person;
    29-15 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of �50 per person;
    14 days of departure will be made at the sole discretion of tour operator.
    b) Tour Destination changes requested within:
    60-30 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of �35 per person;
    29 days of departure will be made at the sole discretion of tour operator.
    Changing the tour date and/or the destination is subject to availability of the new requested date and/or the destination. If the revised tour has a higher price and/or local payment, the price difference must be paid by the passenger. It is not possible to transfer the booking to travel dates outside of seasonal dates covered in tour operator brochure or by the relevant edition of the website valid at the time the original booking was made. Hotelier cancellation charges are liable to be paid by the passenger in the event of booked pre-tour and post-tour accommodation being unused whatever the circumstances are.
  • Cancellations penalty within the balance payment period (60-0 days prior to departure) are as follows: (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    60 days or more prior to departure - �60 per person.
    59-30 days prior to departure - 70% of total purchase amount.
    29-15 days prior to departure - 85% of total purchase amount.
    1-14 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
