ʻAkaka Falls State Park is centered around the Kolekole Stream, which has carved a gorge into the volcanic landscape over millennia and now tumbles over its edge as the ʻAkaka Falls. A hiking trail loops through the park and offers several different views of the falls as well as views of the Kahūnā Falls. The hike is pleasant and simple, and less than a half-mile long; it should only take about an hour for even unskilled hikers.
