Travel to Akatsuka Orchid Gardens

The Akatsuka Orchid Gardens were founded in 1974 by Moriyasu Akatsuka, a gardener from Japan who specializes in orchids. Visitors to the gardens may take a self-guided tour during normal business hours for free seven days a week. Between the months of may and August, a special "$20,000" orchid is on display. The orchid is special for its symmetry and was brought from Thailand in 1984. It blooms only once per year and for only two months.
