Departing from Puno, journey to La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, and check into your La Paz hotel.

Day 2: La Paz - Uyuni (excluding airfare, Suggest booking the first flight in the morning) - Train Cemetery - Uyuni Salt Flat - Isla Incahuasi - Stargazing at Night (762 km)

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the airport to fly to Uyuni. Once arrival, we'll head to the Train Cemetery first, you can take distinctive photographs here and experience the unique atmosphere of this forsaken site. Subsequently, visit the town of Colchani, where you can witness the making of "white gold" firsthand. Then, we are about to enter the Uyuni Salt Flat. You will see the "Salt Eyes," places where groundwater gushes out, forming unique salt crystals. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the center of the salt flat. Then, visit the Isla Incahuasi Cactus Island. In the afternoon, continue the tour to enjoy the ethereal, colorful horizon at sunset. Finally, head to the salt hotel in Colchani.

    Train Cemetery

    A unique site near the city of Uyuni where the remnants of many trains abandoned from the late 19th to early 20th century are left, attracting visitors interested in historical ruins.

    Isla Incahuasi

    In the heart of Salar de Uyuni lies Isla Incahuasi, an "island" in the salt flat covered with enormous cactuses, considered a major highlight for tourists.

Day 3: Coqueza Mummies - Tunupa volcano viewpoint - Cueva de Chiquini Tahua (121 km)

After breakfast, head to the Coqueza Mummies. Next, visit the Tunupa volcano's viewpoint to admire the salt flats and the vibrant quinoa fields from above. Enjoy a picnic along the way. Afterwards, explore the Cueva de Chiquini Tahua. Finally, head to the salt hotel in Colchani.

    Coqueza Mummies

    Halfway up a volcano at the edge of the world’s largest salt flats is a cave with seven mummies. It it is believed they were from an important family. Though partially skeletonized, the mummies are remarkably well-preserved, with untouched hair and clothing. Ceramics and other artifacts accompany them, offering a tiny glimpse into the lives of the local indigenous peoples of centuries past.

    Tunupa volcano

    Tunupa volcano ascent to 5446m altitude - the colourful Tunupa is considered to be the god of the lightnings and the volcanoes.

    Cueva de Chiquini Tahua

    The Chichini Cave is an underwater geographical wonder that existed before the formation of glaciers, known for its incredible stalactites and stalagmites.

Day 4: Uyuni - La Paz (excluding airfare, Suggest booking the first flight in the morning) (684 km)

    Jaen Street

    Jaen Street is renowned as the city's best-preserved colonial street. This charming street is home to four small museums that are conveniently clustered together, allowing visitors to explore them all in one visit.

    Plaza Murillo

    La Paz’s Plaza Murillo is a pigeon-filled public square steeped in history, conquest, conflict, and tragedy. Surrounded by imposing buildings such as the Presidential Palace, the La Paz Cathedral, and the National Congress of Bolivia.

    Rodriguez Market

    Mercado Robert Rodriguez is La Paz’s largest food market. The market is full of busy stalls selling fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and seafood (predominately fish from Lake Titicaca).

    Mi Teleferico

    Operating at 4000 m (13,000 ft) above sea level, the world’s highest cable car ride has revolutionised the way locals travel between La Paz and neighbouring El Alto. The cable cars provide spectacular bird’s-eye views from each of the lines, enabling passengers to grasp just how big and sprawling the city truly is.

    Moon Valley

    Away from the tumults of La Paz’s urban life, the valley of the moon is not a real valley, but a whole of strange geological formations, fairies, or snakes’ chimneys, leading to special shapes.

  • Puno Pick up: Typically, the tour group assembles at Hotel Jose Antonio Puno. The exact meeting location and time will be provided in our final confirmation letter. Please ensure to prepare your Bolivian visa in advance.
  • El Alto International Airport Pick up: 24-hour free transportation service is available. Guests arrive in the same time period will be gathered and guided to the hotels. Hotel check-in is available after 3:00 PM; please schedule your flight accordingly.
  • El Alto International Airport Drop off: 24-hour free service is available.

  • All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book the airline tickets until you received the confirmation.

Redemption

  • Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

Terms & Condition

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. The time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through webmail at Contact Us .
  • The cancellation and modification policies for the Hotel Luna Salada are relatively stringent
    Reservations confirmed during the rainy season are non-refundable and non-changeable,
    Reservations confirmed during the dry season, the hotel's actual transmitted policies on cancellations and modifications shall prevail.

    Cancellation penalties per person (request day and departure day are not counted, and the amount is total purchase amount - Hotel Luna Salada amount)
    40 days or more prior to departure - $100/person.
    30-39 days or more prior to departure - 50% of remaining amount.
    21-29 days prior to departure - 70% of remaining amount.
    Within 20 days prior to departure or no show - 100% of the total purchase amount.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every effort to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of the tour.
    Holiday special policies: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, National Day or other long weekend holidays are the peak season. Air tickets, transportation, meals and hotel accommodation during the peak season shall not be changed in name, date and itinerary, and the fees are not refundable.

  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure of the tour, TakeTours only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
