We left July 4th, 2015 just for a brief getaway from the fireworks to experience something new. Surprisingly, I-15 was so clear, so the trip was on time except for the difficulty of the bus engine to go uphill. At occasions, we could smell the toilet. The humidity in Utah did not bother me because that meant less clothing less luggage. The hotel Lexington St. George was awesome, new and with close by restaurants, plus the free breakfast. We did Lake Powell Cruise first thing in the morning, which was a $50 boat fee. It might be a bit expensive, but my son took really great photos of rock formations, which are unique and unusual to be seen in a lake. Then we headed to Bryce Canyon, which was so MAJESTIC. Too bad the tour does not include hiking down the slopes and going between the rocks. Then lastly, we went to Zion which was just okay to appreciate nature. Day 3 is all traveling back to Los Angeles. Oh, just an hour stop at Bellagio was fun too. The driver and tour guide LEO were awesome, even they did not talk too much. We owe them a lot for keeping track of my son's camera bag (worth $3000) left in the bus. THANK YOU guys!!!
My sister and I just returned from the 3 day tour over this
past Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27, 2013) of Zion National Park, Lake
Powell and Bryce Canyon, I purchased from TakeTours.com. We just wanted to express our gratitude to
our tour guide (I believe his name is Gary Li) and tour bus driver
(unfortunately I don't recall his name--but we were on bus no. 289, I
believe) for such a great job they both did. Gary in particular was
fantastic, as he was not only funny and entertaining but also had such
a wide knowledge of national parks and was also very conscientious in
trying to accommodate everyone's needs. He also did a phenomenal job
of translating the tour in English (neither my sister nor I speak or
understand any Chinese, so we were a bit hesitant before joining the
tour, but Gary immediately put any initial concerns about this to
rest, as he spoke English fluently). We were so impressed that my
sister and I combined gave an additional amount (about $20) over and
above the mandatory $42 tip--something we rarely if ever do. (We
weren't sure if Gary was aware of this when my sister put our tip into
the tip collection envelope but we wanted to make sure that Gary and
our bus driver knew that their hard work was appreciated).
Thank you!
