Luxor is a city in the southern part of Egypt, bisected by the Nile River. It is located on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs� capital at the height of their power. Now, the city surrounds two massive ancient temple areas: the Temple of Karnak and the royal tombs located in the Valley of the Kings and Queens.
