Built in the mid-1800s, Trinity Church (also called St. Paul's Chapel) is the oldest public building that is in continuous use in NYC. The current building is the third structure on this site; the first Trinity Church was built in 1698, but was burnt to the ground in the Great New York Fire of 1776.
