Day 1: Rio de Janeiro - Ilha Grande (111 km)

Guests will be picked up at hotels in Rio de Janeiro between 10:30am and 11:30am. From Rio, we will travel to Conceicao de Jacarei, where a boat will be waiting to take us to Ilha Grande. We will arrive on the island at around 3:00pm. Please note that there are no banks, cash machines, or money exchange offices on Ilha Grande. Please make sure you have enough cash before you get on the bus, because it is not possible for the driver to stop on the way.

Day 2: Ilha Grande

Today we will take a boat tour to Lopes Mendes Beach, considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. We will start with a boat ride from Abraao Pier to Pouso Pier, which should be about 50 minutes. From there, we will take an easy walk (about 30 minutes) through the Atlantic forest until we reach Lopes Mendes beach. After 3 hours of snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing on Lopes Mendes, we will return to Pouso Pier to take the boat back to Vila do Abrao.

    This is a village at Ilha Grande. It is located in a cove and is the largest urban center on the island, with roughly 3,000 inhabitants. It contains most of the island's infrastructure and is therefore considered the "capital" of the island.

Day 3: Ilha Grande

At 10:30am we will depart from the docks towards the famous Lagoa Azul. After taking some time to enjoy the pristine waters and nature, we will continue to Freguesia de Santana Beach. There, we will have the chance to discover two beautiful beaches in addition to the historical Santana Church. Lastly, we will visit Japariz Beach and have lunch there. We will finish at approximately 4:00pm.

Day 4: Ilha Grande - Rio de Janeiro (111 km)

Today we will make our way back to Rio de Janeiro. Guests can choose to leave from the pier next to Aquario Hostel at 1:00pm or from the pier in town. The boat will take us to Conceicao de Jacarei, where a van will be waiting to take you to Rio. In Rio, we will dropoff at hotels between 5:00pm and 5:30pm.

  • Booking changes: A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
  • Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
  • Itinerary Variations: We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation: We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
  • We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
