A member of the National Register of Historic Places, the Utah State Capitol has been standing since 1916. Adorned with columns and a dramatic dome, the neoclassical style is the same as the famous national Capitol building in Washington, DC, where the United States Congress meets. The building is located on Capitol Hill and overlooks Salt Lake City. Whenever the building is open, visitors are welcome to take a self-guided tour of its public chambers.
