This tour will begin after guests have been picked up from the specified departure location in Salzburg. We will begin by viewing Mirabell Palace. Then, we will pass by the Mozarteum and the Marionette Theatre before we reach Alter Markt Square, where we will be able to see the Landestheatre. In this area, we will be able to see Trinity Church and Mozart's Residence. Next, we will make our way to Hellbrunn Palace for the opportunity to take some photos. On the way back to the city center, we will pass the Palace of Frohnburg and Nonnberg Abbey, which is situated under the impressive Hohensalzburg Fortress, before entering the heart of the city via Siegmunds Gate. Once we are in the old city, we will pass the Festival Halls, the Old University, the Horse Bath, Getreidegasse, and Blasius Church. The tour will finish at Mozart's Residence, where we will be able to enjoy free admission to the Mozart Museum to learn more about the life of this monumental composer.     This university in Salzburg specializes in music and the dramatic arts. One of the most respected universities in Europe for its musical curriculum, it was named after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a famous composer and Salzburg resident.

    Salzburg Marionette Theatre

    Established in 1913, this theater is one of the oldest of its kind in the world. Marionettes (a.k.a. stringed puppets) give performances, allowing visitors to experience a unique type of theer that is not commonly found.

    Alter Markt Square

    In English, the name of this square means "old market" because, in the older city, this was a major center of commerce, sitting between the Getreidegasse and the Salzburger Dom areas. It was built in 1280.

    Mozart Residence

    This building was the birthplace and childhood home of treasured Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The house was destroyed during World War II, but reopened to the public in 1996.

    Hellbrunn Palace

    This early Baroque villa of palatial size in Salzburg, Austria is located in the city's southern district. Built between 1613 and 1619 for the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg, it was named for the clera spring that supplied it water.

    Frohnburg Palace

    This famous palace in Salzburg is visited by many tourists each year, who may recognize the building's exterior as the von Trapp villa in the beloved film classic, "The Sound of Music."

    Nonnberg Abbey

    This Benedictine monastery in Salzburg was founded circa 714 B.C.E. by St. Rupert of Salzburg. It is the oldest women's religious house in the German-speaking world. Around the year 1000, the abbey was rebuilt.

    The name of this street in Salzburg, Austria translate to "Grain Lane." It is a busy shopping street. The house at Getreidegasse 9 is the birth house of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who lived there until the age of 17.

    Horse Bath

    The beautiful fountain at the center of this pond was designed in 1732. The ramp was once used by horses to access the water. The figures on the sculpture show Neptune, god of the sea, riding a seahorse.

    Festival Hall

    This opera house and concert hall in Salzburg was built between 1956 and 1960 for the Salzburg Festival. At over 100 meters wide, the stage is one of the largest in the world.

    University of Salzburg

    Named for its founder, the Prince Archbishop Paris Lodron, this university is divided into 4 major faculties: Catholic theology, law, humanities, and the natural sciences. Though it has no central campus, it occupies many buildings in the Altstadt district.

    Blasius Church

    The current church that rests on this site was not always here: in the 12th century, it was only a small chapel. It was built adjacent to a hospital for the citizens of Salzburg.

    8-14 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Within 7 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a scheduled trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every effort to maintain normal operations.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of the tour.
