Travel to Route 66
This famous highway has popped up all over pop culture, from songs to television shows. However, it technically no longer exists. In 1985, it was officially removed from the United States Highway System. Still, portions of it continue to be regarded as an important part of America's industrialization and development. Portions of it, billed as "Historic Route 66," are considered National Scenic Byways, and it is even being places back on major maps in some areas.
