Travel to Casa Loma
Prolific businessman Sir Henry Pellatt commissioned Casa Loma in 1911 to be built as his "dream castle." The mansion took three years to complete and cost Pellatt $3.5 million dollars (almost $85 million in today's money).
Today, the intimidating stone castle, which is three stories tall and includes stables, a potting shed and a separate two-story Hunting Lodge, serves as a museum and tourist attraction. Aside from the glorious architecture, visitors can view the estate's gardens.
