Travel to St. Peter's Basilica

Perhaps the most famous church in the world and the center of Roman Catholicism, this ornate basilica in the small sovereign state of Vatican City has been a place of pilgrimage for nearly two thousand years. It is also believed, with a decent amount of archaeological evidence supporting, that St. Peter was buried here after his martyrdom at the hands of Nero in 64 AD. This is the second basilica on the site; the first was built in the 300s AD.
