Travel to Half Dome
In 1865, a report that surveyed Half Dome called it "perfectly inaccessible," and declared that no one would ever reach the summit. Despite this, George Anderson reached the summit in 1875, and today thousands of people scale it each year.
The hike to the top is notoriously arduous, and culminates in a steep climb along anchored steel cables up the smooth granite face of the dome. Every year, hundred of people on the trails require assistance, so come prepared.
